The strategy that led to the development of these Standards was established by Jeff Watson (Horizons Regional Council) and Rob Christie (formerly of Hawkes Bay Regional Council), and was most recently updated in May 2023.
The current Steering Group comprises Glenn Ellery (Chairman - Bay of Plenty Regional Council), Jeff Watson (Technical Advisor), Phil Downes and Rachel Herbert (Environment Canterbury, Jon Marks (Greater Wellington Regional Council), Charles Pearson and Jochen Schmidt (NIWA), Michael Ede and Dan Elder (Ministry for the Environment), Sonja Miller (Stats NZ), Abi Loughnan (National Project Manager - Environmental Monitoring and Reporting Project) and Raelene Mercer (NEMS Project Manager - hosted by Horizons Regional Council).
